Profile:
Annie Woodford studied ceramics and glass at
the Royal College of Art where she received a travel scholarship.
Extensively traveled, she has exhibited nationally
and internationally and her work is held in public and private
collections worldwide.
Recently, she was given the Bronze Award in the Taiwan International
Ceramics Biennale Competition and her work is profiled in
‘Breaking the Mould: New Approaches to Ceramics’ (Black Dog
Publishing)
2007 which investigates ceramic artists working at the cutting edge of
their discipline. During 2009, as an invited artist at the World
Ceramic Biennale in Korea, she presented a collection of her work as
part of the World Contemporary Ceramics Exhibition - 'Adventures of the
Fire'.
Introduced to printmaking by Sir Eduardo Paolozzi who was her tutor, she
continues to develop the medium alongside her object making, using it
to explore the concepts and themes central to her practise.
